Pavilion furniture is built to last, and carefully following these care instructions will help preserve your investment. Adherence to the following guidelines for proper use, storage, care and maintenance is required to maintain a valid Pavilion warranty.
Proper Use and Storage
All furniture should be placed on dry, level ground, and not submerged—even partially—in any kind of water. All furniture should be used for its intended purpose (for example, no standing on seats and/or tables) in normal use environments, not exposed to excessive weight or unstable or other abusive conditions. Avoid dragging furniture on the ground. Scratches or chips in the finish can promote oxidation. Store furniture indoors when high winds and/or severe weather is anticipated.
For all cushioned furniture that is exposed to the elements—especially those specified without a waterproof fabric—waterproof covers should be used to prolong the life of the cushions. If covers are not used, cushions should be stored indoors in a clean, dry place. Even with waterproof or other performance fabrics, mildew can grow on dirt and other debris that collect on the fabric. Make sure fabric is clean and dry prior to covering and/or storing the cushions.
When not in use; when inclement weather is expected; or during off seasons, Pavilion strongly recommends covering your furniture. We recommend use of Pavilion Custom Fitted Protective Covers, which are tailored with waterproof fabric and fitted with adjustable Velcro straps for a secure fit.
In freezing conditions, store frames indoors in an upright position to allow for proper water drainage. Storing furniture upside down may cause water to accumulate and freeze inside the frame, causing structural damage. Before covering or storing for extended periods, ensure proper care and maintenance are performed.
Protect tabletop surfaces by using felt pads and/or coasters on the bottom of tabletop objects.
Proper Care and Maintenance
Pavilion furniture must be removed from the area before cleaning the floor with chemicals such as chlorine or muriatic acid. Floors must be thoroughly rinsed with clean water prior to replacing furniture. Residue from floor cleaning chemicals may damage furniture materials or finishes.
Frames
Routine and proper cleaning and maintenance of your product’s frame, as outlined below, will prolong the life of your furniture, including its finishes. Pesticides, fertilizers, floor cleaners, water from irrigation systems, salt and chlorides can all damage the finish if furniture is not regularly maintained.
Please note: Special care is required for frame finishes in coastal, intercoastal, saltwater, and indoor pool environments. Please follow care instructions for frame finishes closely to protect your finish and maintain your warranty coverage.
Salt spray will cause oxidation (blistering of the finish) within a relatively short period of time if it is not routinely and properly removed from the frame finish. Salt oxidation is not covered under our warranty and generally requires complete refinishing once it occurs. While the Pavilion Marine Primer will slow down the oxidation process, it does not replace the need for regular care and maintenance.
Cleaning
Wash frames with a mild dish soap (such as Dawn or Method), auto or marine soap solution. Prepare a solution of ¼-cup soap per gallon of clean, warm water. Use a soft sponge or cleaning rag to clean frames. To remove water spots, wash with a 1:1 solution of white distilled vinegar and clean water. Always rinse with clean water and wipe dry with a soft cloth. Do not use harsh solvent-based, abrasive or corrosive cleaners, scrub pads, or pressure washers.

Follow the schedule below for cleaning, based on your furniture’s environment:
- For furniture located inland, away from salt air environments, clean frames quarterly or as needed
- For furniture located in coastal, intercoastal, saltwater, or indoor pool environments, clean frames bi-monthly to prevent salt spray or pool chemical buildup from causing frame finishes to oxidize, discolor, and/or blister.
Maintenance
- For coastal, intercoastal, saltwater, or indoor pool environments, apply a coat of car wax, such as Meguiar’s Quik Wax, as instructed on the container to your product’s frame every four months; for other environments, apply every six months. Clean thoroughly before applying wax.
- Regularly tighten loose fasteners to ensure structural integrity.
- Regularly check that glides and/or casters are in good working order; replace as needed.
- Regularly lubricate mechanical or moving parts.
Cushions
Keep cushions clean and dry. Cover cushions with a waterproof cover during inclement weather and/or store them indoors in a clean, dry place. Regularly clear any debris or dirt that collects on the fabric with a soft, dry brush or sponge. If cushions get wet, remove them from the frame, place them in a well-ventilated area, and allow them to air dry. Repair any tears in fabric right away. Check zippers and fasteners regularly.
Cleaning
Follow cleaning instructions provided by the fabric manufacturer. Avoid scrubbing, hard bristle brushes, or any other abrasive cleaning method. For Sunbrella fabrics, use the following instructions:
- For a new liquid spill, blot (don’t rub) with a clean, dry cloth; spray on a solution of mild soap (such as Dawn or Woolite) and lukewarm water; rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove all soap residue and air dry.
- For a new oil-based spill, apply an absorbent such as corn starch, then remove with a straight edge; spray on a solution of mild soap and water; rinse thoroughly and air dry.
- For stubborn stains, soak fabric in a solution of ¼ cup mild soap per gallon of lukewarm water or reference the Acrylic Cleaning Chart on the Pavilion website for cleaning solutions specific to stain type; use a sponge or very soft bristle brush to lightly agitate the stain; rinse thoroughly and air dry.
- Mildew can grow on dirt and foreign substances that are not removed from fabric; for mold or mildew stains, prepare a solution of 1 cup bleach (for severe mold/mildew growth, bleach quantities may be increased) and ¼ cup mild soap per gallon of water; spray entire area (to avoid water rings) and allow to soak for 15 minutes; clean entire surface with a sponge, clean towel, or very soft bristle brush; rinse thoroughly and air dry.
Maintenance
Sunbrella fabrics are treated with a proprietary water and stain repellent finish that lasts several years, but may require retreatment after a thorough cleaning. To retreat fabric, clean fabric using one of the methods described above; allow fabric to completely air dry; apply 303 Fabric Guard (available in the U.S.) or Tex’Aktiv (available internationally) retreatment in a well-ventilated area following instructions on the container.
Sling Fabric
Do not stand on sling fabric or place heavy or sharp objects on it. Ensure fabric gets good ventilation and exposure to sun after getting wet from rain. Mold and mildew do not grow on sling fabric, but can grow on dirt lodged between fabric fibers. Vacuum or brush to remove dust or dirt. Wash down sling fabric frequently with clean water and allow to air dry, preferably in plenty of sun.
For deeper cleaning, prepare a solution using 1 tablespoon liquid dish soap detergent and 3 tablespoons household bleach mixed in a gallon of water. Clean fabric using a sponge or soft brush dipped in the solution. Rinse with clean water, and air dry.
Please note: Never use a pressure washer on sling fabric as it breaks down the fibers.
Ecowood
For regular cleaning, scrub Ecowood components with a mild soap (such as Dawn or Method) and water solution using a soft sponge or soft bristled brush. Rinse and thoroughly dry the furniture with a clean, soft cloth to avoid leaving water marks. For stubborn marks on Ecowood, use Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.
For tough stains, including rust spots, scrub Ecowood boards with Iron OUT Rust Stain Remover Powder by Summit Brands. To deep clean your Ecowood, a pressure washer can be used on the lightest setting. Do not use more than 1,500psi pressure and keep the tip of the pressure washer at least 10–12 inches from the furniture to avoid damaging the finish.
Regularly check that fasteners between frames and Ecowood parts are secure.
All-Weather Woven Material
For regular cleaning, use feather duster or soft brush to wipe off dust or dirt. Rinse with clean water and wipe until completely dry.
For heavy stains, dip a piece of soft cloth or clean sponge in mild soap water. Wipe over stained areas, wash off with clean water, wipe dry with a piece of cloth or leave it out in an airy area or in the sun.
Please note: Do not use chemicals or polishing/wax-finishing products.
Glass
Regularly wipe down with a dry microfiber cloth. For stubborn spots, use a microfiber cloth to gently apply a 1:1 dish soap and clean water solution. With a soft, dry cloth, remove any leftover cleaner. If imperfections persist, rinse with clean water and repeat.
Avoid excessively harsh cleaners and chemicals like alcohol or scrubbing with abrasive materials like stiff brushes or scrub sponges.
FlexStrap

Protective Covers
Clean regularly to maintain the life of the fabric.
For regular cleaning, brush off loose dirt, use two ounces mild soap (such as Woolite or Dawn) per gallon of lukewarm water; clean with a soft bristled brush. Rinse thoroughly with cold water and allow to air dry.
For deep cleaning for tough stains, use a solution of one cup bleach and one gallon water. Lightly spray the solution on the non-coated side. Be careful not to soak the fabric as overexposure to harsh chemicals may damage the fabric’s coating. Do not leave on longer than two minutes. Rinse immediately and thoroughly, then air dry.
Please note: After using bleach or other harsh cleaners, the fabric may require a retreatment to restore its water repellency. We recommend using 303 Fabric Guard.
